Vista adminstrator problems

I cannot download my printer after I reinstalled Vista. This is the same printer that had been downloaded to this computer for years. I simply reinstalled the Vista software and nada! No can install. I get the error message that I don't have administrative priviledges even though I am the only user on the pc and I am set up as administrator. Please help!

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

If the printer's driver file has an executable file on which you click to start the process, right click it and then click RunAs Asministrator and that gives you the privileges you need. You may be set up with an administrative account and your user name may be administrator but you are not the System Administrator and you can't even see that account in Vista without specifically enabling it.
