vista freezes randomly, mouse freezes, have to power off to restart

I have a have an HP pavillion Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, 2600 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s). As said freezes randomly, sometimes can go a day or two without freezing, usually tends to freeze while trying open a website, Any suggestions? I 've run all malware , junkware, etc.

I'm inclined to say it's a combination of Vista and your hard drive. Either clean out the dust, replace the hard drive, and install Windows 7/10 or just get a new computer. Probably the latter, while the Athlon 64 was a good chip in the day it's pretty old by today's standards.

how bout installing xp pro (happen to have the disc), at least that would tell me whether it's a hard drive problem or not.
