Vista lock up issue

So I built my system in summer 2008 and since monday my computer has been locking up for some reason, my mouse and keyboard stop responding. Then when I reboot my computer locks up on the windows load screen. No errors show which make this really hard, my components aren't overheating and I have no idea what to do. Normally I'd reformat and but my info on my external, but at the moment I do not have my vista disc and won't for about a month. I currently am running Vista home premium 64 bit, the rest of my computer specs are in my signature. Please people of Tom's hardware lend me your advice!!

have you installed new software or updated drivers recently?

or downloaded anything from mr warez?

I would run a boot scan using your AV .

I would also run a live linux disk to confirm if its a hardware or software problem . If its hardware the the linux OS will probably lock up too

ok, ill have to check the linux thing. I haven't downloaded any new software besides windows update.

I would also run Memtest86+ overnight to test for RAM errors. Locking/freezing problems are often caused by faulty RAM

My computer wouldn't last that long. I got a blue screen saying kernal data inpage error. Any ideas?
