I was having trouble with Vista - unable to open .doc files with error window "Windows Explorer has stopped working" .
Next boot was unsuccessful it just kept trying to reboot. Also wouldn't start in Safe Mode. used Vista install disk / System restore
to get running , but the origianl problem was never repaired. I Did this for a couple of days trying to research a fix = nothing worked.
I Decided to you ahead a upgrade to win 7 ( had the disk) that went fine until after 75% install a window came up "not enough disk
space remaining to complete install - try to make space, deleter files, etc - returning you to your prior OS" which didn't boot !!!!
So now I have no options to start in Vista or Win 7 and I really don't want to scrub all the software on
there to do a custom install for win 7.
I have a 500 Gb drive pc is only a year old. It's capacity is fully capable to handle win 7 but I did partition the HD and didn't realize that
C:\ was that full. If i can get in i can repartition to make more space on C:\ or even move files, programs to the other partitionl.
I tried booting with the Vista disk but part of the boot process asks what OS you want to use and usually would list Vista, but now
it just lists Win 7 . So it goes no farther.
I tried booting with the Win 7 disk but that just won't boot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a new HD coming in the mail next week - i assume if I can't get beyond this dilemma with the current HD that I can do the custom
install with the Wiin 7 Upgrade Disk on the new HD and start over ?????? then from that as my master HD and the old one as the slave,
I can deal with the partition issues on the old one ??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Don
