I am thinking to use Vista SP1 64 BIT. Currently, I am using XP SP 2 32 bit.
My hardware:

Processor Core 2 Quade 9400

RAM 2 GB

Sapphire ATI 4890 1 GB

Motherboard XFX 750i SLI Nvidia Geforce

As my hardware is Vista supported but I am bit confused with RAM. I have heard that 32 OS Supports 2 GB and 64 OS Vista supports more than 2 GB ram. If I install Vista SP1 64 BIT then will it function properly?

But I am afraid of upgrading RAM as I read several articles here which says that 4 GB to 8 GB RAM sometimes create boot problem whereas 2 GB RAM do that job like a champ. I also read about BIOS flash to solve those problems. But I do not know how to do that. I was thinking to upgrade My RAM up to 6 GB by adding 4 GB Kit (800 MHz). My current RAM is Transcend 2 GB (800MHz). My BIOS was updated in October 2008. Should I buy that 4 GB RAM ? My mother board contains additional three slots for ram.
