Hi all :)

I have a strange problem with Vista.
I just bouth a new computer and installed the 32bit vista.

The problem I'm facing is quite strange and annoying. The system hangs randomly and I can't even go to the task manager to see if there's a program I should close.
It can happen 5 sec from boot into Vista or 1 hour after working or browsing or just listening to music.
I can move the mouse pointer and when it hovers the side bar I can see the opacity changes.

I've ran checkdisk and my HD came out clean however I found this strange error which happens about the same time my system hangs:

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

How can I fix it and do you think it's related?

I hope it's not a hardware problem.

Lastly, I would like to attach a log file of all the system warning and errors in the event viewer but I don't know how to do that in this forum.
I'd appreciate any assistance.

Thanks a lot :)

hi i have the same problem. my computer hangs and the mouse clicks are swallowed and i had the same error in my event log. did you find out how to resolve this problem in the end?

Thanks in advance

i had the same problem and figured out in my case that it's the graphics card.My graphics card had stopped functioning correctly and couldn't run aero anymore as it was too graphics intensive.I know my card can run aero,i don't know about yours
I don't know if this is related at all to your problem but try disabling aero and use basic display. It's worth a shot.

I'm not getting the error you're getting and you probably have a totally different problem but i was looking in all the wrong places to figure out why vista kept freezing a little after start up.
