I have a four-year-old Vivitek H1080FD projector which I use for movies and some tv. Yesterday when I turned it on I heard a pop and it shut down instantly. I assumed it was the bulb and replaced it with a spare that I had, which was a bit tricky since I had to put the bare bulb in the original housing. But I think I did it correctly and the projector still doesn't work. Also, there is no sign of life at all when the projector is plugged in, not even any LED indicator lights.

1) Does the fact that there are no signs of power such as indicator lights mean that it is a power issue such as a blown capacitor or something like that as opposed to a lamp issue?

2) If it is not a lamp issue but something else, is a repair likely to be expensive and complicated?

Solution
1: yes
2: depends on your level of technical ability. Can you do it yourself vs taking it to a repair shop.
Unfortunately I dont see alot of parts available for this so doing it yourself may be out of the question.
