Question Voice recognition for the disabled ?

My wife takes care of a quadriplegic lady and her computer blew up. So everyone chipped in and got her a new laptop. On her old computer she used dragon voice recognition so she can control the computer. On her new laptop she didn’t have that. So we got the latest ver. From what I’ve being told it only works on Microsoft based programs. She needs it to work with google and such. What does everyone recommend we try for a full voice assistant so she can use her computer again. She has little to no control with her hands so the program has to allow you to do everything with the computer

At work, we have an office of mostly disabled people. Various limitations.

Are you saying she used to have a Microsoft device and or operating system and now she needs to use google/android?
I don’t recommend changing operating systems because I just upgraded from 10 to 11 on my 2018 $2000 laptop and it slowed down a lot until I reverted it, so it’s an option but the last one. <Redacted by Moderator> But the other response here was a good one too, it’s unusual for big companies to only support certain families of computers.

She had a windows 7 tower that finally died. She was gifted a laptop with windows 11. She used to use a ver of dragon voice. It allowed her to do everything on the computer with her voice. Now with the new machine she has the updated ver of dragon. This ver only works with anything made by Microsoft. It will not do anything if you open google chrome or any program that isn’t made by Microsoft

Ahhhh....
Windows S is the culprit here.

You can change this Windows version to regular Windows 11 Home, for free.

Then, the regular Dragon software will work with anything, just as before.
