Hi all, I think I asked this before but i cannot seem to find my post.
How do I measure the different voltage rails on my PSU.
According to SpeedFan I'm getting fluctuations on my 5V rail.
But this is what it said about my previous PSU aswell.
I does not seem likely that my brand new Ultra X-Connect 500W could be doing the same.

I measured the 12V and 5V on one of the molex while benching my PC with 3DMark03 and I got absolute stable readings but I don't know if the Molex can be taken as a clear indication of PSU voltage.
I think that maybe the device that reads the voltage on the Motherboard that the applications get their readings from might be faulty, or maybe SpeedFan is just not acurate.
Anything else you think I should try?

I can say this, since I have gotton the new PSU my PC has stopped crashing.

Software is often unreliable for voltage readings. Not always but its not uncommon. One of my boards read correct on only two rails while the others are no where close. Is your system running ok? List your specs;.

To save us both time, assume I know EVERYTHING

Hi thanks for your reply...

My PC Specs :

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Socket 939 (0.09 core)
Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra-939 MB
2x 512MB NCP DDR400 (Dualchannel mode)
Hercules ATI Radeon 9800 128MB
Ultra X-Connect 500W PSU
WD 160GB 7200rpm 8MB HD
Seagate 40GB 4800rpm HD
Sony DRU510A DVD-RW
Samsung CD-RW 48x

And yes...my PC is running fine now. I'm just a bit concerned that the 5V rail is reporting fluctuations.
