Wasn't sure entirely where to post this. Anyway what I'm trying to do is get a good OC on my FX-8350. However I'm running into an issue with the VCORE voltage spiking up too high under stress. Usually it drops, right? I have mine set for 1.4, watching it climb up to 1.51 or 1.52 under stress. It's causing me some headache OC'ing because if I set anything higher for voltage (like 1.45) it will climb past 1.55 under stress and my system will crash. I only did this once and saw 1.59 at which point it shut off and I thought I damaged my CPU.
My hardware is:
AMD FX-8350
ASUS M5A97
8gb G.Skill Ripjaws X
Thermaltake Smart-M 850w bronze modular
All power saving settings on the BIOS are set for off, LLC is "enabled", and I don't believe I have any software throttling my voltage. Any ideas?
