[SOLVED] Volume buttons on my HP Laptop not working

How come every time I try using my volume key buttons, it makes the find on page search bar pop up? and it wont let me use my volume keys for volume? its so frustrating a nd irritating because I have to go down to the tool bar and click the volume and manually turn it up or down that way

There ususaly is an FN key somewhere on keyboards that you have to hold while pressing buttons f1-f12 to activate the function shown in the little picture.
