If anyone experiences the following problem

"trails to the right" on his/hers desktop (especially where the background is bright-see word/excel/autocad) have in mind that it is cause by the GPU of the graphics card. There is nothing wrong with the monitor,cables,M/B,ram etc,or any other factors (magnetic fields etc).Put the card back in the box and head back to where you bought it from.

My card was a CLUB 3D ATI 9200 128mb ram.I tried everything (format,bla,bla,bla...) without result.Then I changed the card.Voila

Now to get to the point.I was surfing the other days on ebay where I noticed a V5 6000 on sale! The auction ended somewhere at 800$.With half that money you get a brand new GF6 (although I would get the brand new ATI which has yet to come....hehe).So I was wandering if we had a card like V5 6000 how well would it make it to the tests?IMO it would be sth like a radeon 8500,or a gf4 4200?M?

well, stamps are just old paper with print on them, why do they cost thousands of dollars to buy new ones? cause they are rare. rare stuff get expensive, u just wait, in 10 year a 5800Ultra will worth 2 times the amount of the newest card out.

only if nvidia goes out of buisness soon. its not that they are rare, its that it was the last effort of a phenominal company that just didnt make it.

But surely they were on the way out anyway? I mean cards with 2 or 4 gpus......they must've been weak individually right?

I don't remeber it, but did 3dfx get bought by nvidia in the geforce 256 days?

So my Vodoo3 3500 put on EBay should be like 400$? Common baby, get me an X800!

Abit IS7 @ 275 FSB, OCZ PC4200 RAM @ 550Mhz, P4 2.4 @ 3.3Ghz Vcore @ 1.625, Sapphire Radeon 9800P @ stock, for now.
Thermalright SLK-947U, P3 HS @ NB.

It's not just that either. The card is extremely rare because it was never produced. Only a select few engineering samples were made... and people want to get a hold of them because it is truly a unique card. I doubt that if the Voodoo 4 were the last gasp and 3Dfx didn't produce it that there would be the demand there is for the Voodoo 5 6000. We're talking the only card with 4 GPUs and an external power adapter.

If I had spare cash (I don’t mean right now but generally ) I would buy V5 5500 64Mb factory sealed in the original box as a sentimental value type of thing. I have this card in one of my PCs and I don’t think I will ever replace it even though now I have a spare Cf3Ti-500 Deluxe.

How much I would be willing to pay for a boxed V5 5500 I don’t know, but I suppose if I did have cash to throw around I would pay up to $500.

??? 500$ man I dont think i paid that when it was new, maybe 300? I cant remember. But I swear to god nvidia swallowed up 3dfx really soon after I bought that damn card and I was so pissed. The card also displayed tribes 2 textures wrong, so it went back in the box quick and I went out and got a geforce 2. Eh I guess people collect different things and have there own reasons on value. But If I could get 100$ for that thing I'd sell it in a heartbeat. I just cant imagine anyone paying any money for an obsolete pci graphics card. But then again people spend thousands of dollars on old baseball cards.

Oh, it is PCI... Mine is AGP. Yeah, I think they had several versions of the same card AGP and PCI as well as 32 and 64Mb versions. The one I have was the top of the line Voodoo 5 5500. I would not buy a PCI version for sentimental reasons anyway )

Mine is a 5500 64mb as well with a pci not agp bus. I guess it was a good card at the time, but I didnt really give it a chance. Its huge though lol! I also checked on ebay just to see if I could get something for it. It appears as though the pci version is only bringing in about 70$ I guess. The agp vers. is about the same maybe even lower. That 6000 thats for sale is a real engineering sample encased in glasshttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40157&item=4128018673&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW, strictly a display model. I guess I can understand why someone would collect something like that. I wouldnt want it though. Not for 800$ anyway
