The development of Voodoo5 6000 had gone through several observable changes. On the first demo sample (Fig. 1), collocations of 4 VSA-100 chips were found entirely different comparing to that of the original design (Fig. 2). In November 2000, 3dfx display the final version on which the Intel PCI-to-PCI bridge chip that had been on there before is replaced by a HINT PCI-to-PCI bridge chip (Fig. 1).
...
From the above results, it can be know that Voodoo5 6000 is no over +5% faster than GeForce2 Ultra, while it has been show that there will be at least a +25% performance lead of NV20 over GeForce2 Ultra in the NV20 preview. So it should be more smarter to wait for a just coming NV20 than rush out to bid that Quantum 3D Voodoo5 6000 PC (if it was there) at eBay.

Dude,
where have you been? 3dfx went out of business. As far as I know the 6000 never went into production.

Yeah, 3Dfx no longer exists (well they won't in a few months, anyways.) 3Dfx sold all the V6000s to military training centers to use in flight simulators or something.

I don't hate Intel............ Do I?

Hmm I wonder what would happen if nVidia used SLI to put 4 NV20 chips on 1 card? Holy crap! That would probably be like $2k though!

The 6000 would have been awsome exept for having to use the external power supply. It definetly would not have been for someone with a mini case. They were large cards but I don't think they were 1.5' long (if recall correctly).

Than that must have been a gag photo. They were only a couple of inches longer than a 5500 was. Trust me. I've seen plenty of them.
Unless the guy your talking about was a midget. LOL.

I was a sys admin there before they went under. Don't get me wrong though, the card was rather big.
