Hello all,

I have a dell vostro 1700 on which I probably slightly damaged one of the battery connector pins. Upon inserting the battery a month ago, I noticed I bent one of the pins that connect the battery to the motherboard.

The symptoms are as follows:
-orange battery led indicator flashing (indicating something's wrong)
-bios doesn't recognize the battery
-windows doesn't recognize the battery
-laptop doesn't startup with power cord unplugged
BUT
-laptop stays on when I unplug the power cord, which means the battery feeds, and probably charges as well since it has been a while now

I tried using only the battery a couple of times and that went well, until it didn't. Once the laptop just weezed off.
The machine is 11 years old but I kept it in a ridiculously good shape and doing even 3d jobs on it. So I wonder what is still worth trying, in order to resolve those above mentioned symptoms.

Thanks for your suggestions...
