**THE VOTING PERIOD IS NOW OPEN** PLEASE FOLLOW THIS LINK TO VOTE.
We will accept votes on the Best PC Build until 9/20. Thanks for participating!

The Best PC Builds. Our title is practically self-explanatory. Unlike the System Builder Marathon, these configurations are not chosen by Tom's Hardware's editors. They are submitted and selected by our forum members based on defined pricing tiers. Every so often, we ask the community for its help picking parts based on performance and features for the price.

With Fall soon upon us, and Ryzen available to compete with Intel at every budget category, the time has come to ask Tom's Hardware members to once again submit their Best Builds. We're raising the stakes this time around, and will be sending members with winning submissions Newegg gift card good for $100.

We are accepting submission in each budget category until Thursday, September 14th. After the submission period will but the top builds to a Community vote. The builds with the most votes in each category will be crowned the Best Build.

This thread is for the $500 budget category. Please only submit builds within the $500 budget category to this thread. All other builds will be disqualified.

Please make sure to follow the ground rules below. Any builds over budget will be disqualified.

Here are the ground rules:

  • Only one build per budget category, per user. Multiple builds from a single user or duplicate accounts will be disqualified.
    ■Do not go over budget.
■Use only Amazon OR Newegg to source parts.
■Use list prices only: coupons, rebates, bundles or any other limited-time offers will not be accepted.
■Do not include shipping or tax in your final budget.
■Do not include the Operating System, Monitor or VR Headset, Keyboard, Mouse or Gamepad.
■Do not put your forum handle in the name of your build, and avoid odd capitalizations & symbols.
Provide links to the Amazon or Newegg product pages of each component — we encourage users to use PCPartPicker's System Build for speedy construction. Do not post a link to your build, but rather please be sure to export as BBCode for a quick copy/paste to the forums.

Here are links to all seven build categories:

$500 Budget Build
$750 Budget Build
$1000 Budget Build
$1250 Budget Build
$1500 Budget Build
$2000 Budget Build
$2500 Budget Build

Good luck and may the best build win!

It's mentioned but in a round about way. "Do not put your forum handle in the name of your build, and avoid odd capitalizations & symbols."

If you don't have to include shipping, can someone tell me how to remove it on PC Part Picker? I'm $0.98 over right now, but I have a dollar in shipping that would let it be qualified.
Would I be allowed to go into the copied and pasted thing and just subtract my 99 cents in shipping?

[strike]UPDATE: Why, I forgot to name it! I'll call it the "Windowless Wonder".[/strike]
It has a window now. I'll call it "Turn the window the other way" untill I think of something better.

We can see your non ship build cost by following your link into PCpartpicker. But if you want to mod your post the I'd just add this after your PCpartpicker paste

Shipping: <$$$>
Build Cost: $$$

Power supply isn't the greatest compared to say an S12II, but it'll run a 1060 OC'd and G4560 without any issue whatsoever.
The Antec VP is still higher quality than an EVGA B1 unit.

Need clarification on the rules. The third bullet point says, "Use only Amazon OR Newegg to source parts." Does this mean we can only use one or the other, not both? Most of the builds I'm seeing use both.

Edited to remove shipping costs

The parts can come from both stores. You don't need to show loyalty to just one.

P.S.: For those gamers who are considering my build, change the mobo to an asrock pro4 cuz it got 2 more ram slots for ram upgrade and get a better case like the zalman t1 plus(?) for better cable management or a semi/modular psu like the evga b3. Happy gaming ;)
