Hi and thank you, but I've already tried reinstalling the camera driver for my model from the Sony Vaio website, to no avail.
Any other ideas would be welcomed.
Is the webcam shown in Device Manager without any error symbols? (it should be listed under "Imaging Devices").
As a matter of fact, using the webcam software provided by Sony, it says it can't find the webcam. Yet there it is, in front of me, part of the display.
Right - - it's absence in Device Manager probably means the webcam has died (for want of a better word),
so it isn't being detected. In effect, it isn't there as far as Windows is concerned.
If that's the case, you'll have to buy an external webcam.
