I have been using a dialup connection for VPN connection to the office.
Today I installed a cable modem through Comcast. My VPN connects real fast,
when I go to do a remote connection, it doesnt work. If I dial up after that
it workd fine.

Sounds like a firewall at the office is blocking the Remote Desktop from
connecting. I believe TCP port 3389 needs to be open. Usually when dialing
in you bypass the firewall.

Hope this helps,

You could check with Comcast if they are blocking certain ports. Most IPS do
this to try and reduce network traffic. If this is the case you will need to
re-assign the port(s) on both your local and remote device (router).

best regards
