Question VPN Connection for Amazon Fire HD (7th Gen)

Amazon has removed the VPN connection setting. I would like to use my Fire HD to connect to my office when I travel. With my previous Samsung tablet I could setup a VPN connection in android settings and then use the Microsoft Remote Desktop app to connect to my office PC through Windows Server. Anyone know how to do this on an Amazon Fire HD tablet? There are lots of posts about installing Google Play and then using VPN apps to connect to paid VPNs but I think they don't apply.

There's an app called "VPN For Fire TV" (doesn't have nice reviews, though, and seems to be paid service). Haven't tried, though.
