During class when i'm looking for materials to use for a project i find that the schools has blocked most of the websites I try to visit. The school uses a block called lightspeed systems and I also found that they use a program called sophos to block programs like Tor Browser. I cannot install anything on the computer that needs administrative access, however I do have a droid razr HD which is rooted (no sim card) to help me with my endeavors...
Any suggestions for starters? (anything helps... thanks in advance)
EDIT: Proxy websites are blocked as well, already tried that...
EDIT2: Is there any way I could install a VPN program on a USB drive and run it on the school computers or something

Solution
TOR - blocked
Proxies - blocked
Admin access - not yours

Not much we can do for you, except advise talk to your instructors. But they are NOT going to undo all that.
Tell your teacher the computer system is stopping you from doing your work ? It's up to them to get it fixed.

Sophos is a cloud antivirus system that comes with a bunch of editable policies, and blocks all proxys including google translate by default and anything else it has been told to block or pulls down from one of its cloud based lists.

Its the schools network, so I personally wouldn't encourage you to try circumvent their security.

I'm trying to access blocked websites that i'm trying to use for a project. Also I don't think they will listen to me as the school officials who work in the computer lab are cranky 24/7.

If the site is blocked then it's blocked for a good reason. As someone who works in network security, I can attest to the importance of restrictions such as this. One mistake is all it takes for a hacker to gain access to a critical server.

It is pretty simple use your own internet connection off you phone or other mobile broadband, you then have no restrictions and nobody blocks the cell data.

Otherwise rent rack space from a host center, install a commercial vpn appliance...like cisco or juniper. It runs true sslvpn and loads activex clients dynamically. Nobody would ever block activex and it does not require admin. Now don't get too excited their appliance is extremely expensive and you pay yearly license fees on top of that.

And I know why they are cranky.
