My GPU GTX 1070 has VR out via HDMI, and my Monitor has nVIDIA 3D Vision. I would like to test one of those (or both) because I never done it before. What do I need to buy, which equipment. For 3D vision I gues only 3D glasses, but what type would you recommend?
And what about VR, because I am getting confused when I see those VR box with Smartphones. What the hell I need smartphone for when my GPU has VR out... ? Can someone please explain me in short... Thanks a lot.

If your monitor did not come with glasses originally, it's most likely going to require you to buy the 3D Vision kit, which includes glasses and an emitter. As far as VR goes, most VR setups include a headset display, which you wear on your head, and plug into your GPU. Your GPU will be used, but your display won't be used by you (it's possible they could use the display for friends to watch what is going on, but I don't know if this is done with any of the systems).

The good news is VR uses 3D in a very similar manner in which 3D Vision works, but with a tracking device and new controls. The reason this is good, is it should greatly improve the number of games that work in 3D Vision, which doesn't get much support these days.
