That looks like a good start - but somebody needs to build a "minority report" interface inside that type of environment. The extra screen space this gives could certainly be useful. Companies like Envelop are clearly looking to the future as the headsets evolve. Imagine in ~6 years with an Intel NUC + a thin light headset paired with something like this...

What does power consumption look like while "idling" on your VR desktop?

To clarify, a full comparison of power consumption with a VR desktop of 2-6 virtual displays, versus 2-6 typical monitors and so on would be interesting.
