Hey Guys!

I'm looking at graphics cards, and I was just curious of the above question. I'm gaming (open world games like Far Cry 3 and FPS like BF4), capturing gameplay, and editing HD video.

Specs: i7 4770k @stock until later, ASUS Maximus VI Hero MOBO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131989, and 16 GB of 1866 Ram (Mushkin Redline)

I'm planning on upgrading to 2 Way SLI down the road.

The cards I'm looking at are the EVGA GTX 760 FTW and the EVGA GTX 770 SC. Perhaps the 770 FTW but it's a little pricy right now...

I'd like this PC to perform well for about a decade.

Thanks!

If you want this PC to run every game on max settings for 10 years, you can be sure that it won't. I don't even think that you'll be able to play on the lowest settings on the games that will come in 10 years.
Anyways, I'd rather get a GTX 770 than a GTX 760 for sure. The difference in performance is big.

No mather how much money you throw at a computer, it will be not able to perform for a decade, 4-5 years tops. Cpu's last longer and longer so it "might" be good for 10 years, but you will have to upgrade your graphics cards in 4-5 years for decent performace.

I wont give a detailed explanation suffice to say this questions is asked about 6 times a day so if ya want more data, a forum search will reveal loads....but this should suffice as a start

As for the card choices .... I would avoid the SC series ..... they are the only factory OC cards on the market from a major vendor that use stock PCBs and VRMs....all the others use custom PCBs and beefier VRMs to handle the extra loads that factory overclocked cards deal with. In the 2GB category .....

The MSI Hawk and Zotac Amp are the fastest 760's followed by the MSI N760 Gaming and Gigabyte Windforce.

Galaxy has a 1202 MHz card which stands out enough to make me nervous.....PNY and the MSI Lightning follow that lead in the 770 category at 1150 MHz with MSI N770 and Gigabyte following the leaders again with the 770 at 1137 MHz

Oh thanks! Ya I think what I'm gonna do is go with a 770 for as long as it will last me and then just upgrade later... I'll definetely look at that Galaxy card, though...
