I am looking to upgrade (within a $500 budget) to a new 700 series card from nVidia and every where i look people are saying to go with a GTX 770 because it OC's to nearly 780 specs for nearly $200 dollars less.
So, with that said, I am running an eyefinity 6036x1080 res right now on a XFX 7870 GHZ edition. And i am wondering about the 4GB version of a 770 and how it really a 2gbx2 on the same bandwith. I saw a post about calculations and 2gb needs 256bit so 4 would need 512., I understand architecture of the 770 core will make better use of the 256bit but still i wonder if it is worth paying more for the 4gb card and if i will even use 4GB of vram. Or should i just go with the 780 regular ( not Ti ).
Please can some one help explain when 2GB vram is too little and how the bit bandwith will impact my triple monitor gaming and i am most likely going to SLI in the future but it will be quite some time.
specs of my pc are:
i7 2600K
Gigabyte P67A-UD7-B3 mobo
16 GB G.Skill sniper 1600mhz DDR3
XFX 7870 GHZ DD 2GB Edition
Corsair 750 watt psu
