So i just put together a new pc .
V21 thermaltake matx
8600k @4.6 ghz @1.26v
120m liquid freezer aio push pull fans
200m bifenix case fan in front intake
Z370m mortar horizontal in the case
970 evo 500gb
600watt evga 80+bronze
1070 ti mini
Soo it took me bit to figure this oc out because at first my board had long and short power limits that were way too low . I set both to 150 and the clock throttling stoped . I set my own fan speed in bios for the liquid freezer . 70° 100% push pull fans . Still not very loud . Realtemp gt 72 ° prime95 avx on . Cpu was drawing 147 watts according to hwmonitor. Cpu temps are fine but i noticed in hwmonitor there are 4 sensors called cpu . 1 of the sensors up to 98° while real temp still had a max of 72° .so i stoped prime95 and placed a 120mm high speed fan blowing strait down at my mb. connected it to a fan controller and started up prime again . Once it started drawing over 100 watts the temp started to rise. Once the sensor hit 75° I started to up the fan speed . The fan is very loud and fast i was able to set it at a tolerable noise level and keep the temp at 84° under 145w draw . That said while gaming at 4k res ive never seen that sensor above 42° i guess thats what prime95 is designed to do. So my question is do people actually pay attention to their vrm temps when they oc. Ive ocd alot of builds and never paid attention to any vrm temps it wasnt even a thing. And if ne one has any ways to deal with these temps id like to go higher with my oc but that 120m fan is to loud it wouldnt be worth the noise.
