VS error. Fx file could not be compiled.

Every time I try to launch any game I get the following errors.''VS error
The FX file cannot be compiled. Please run this executable from the directory that contains the FX file.

I tried launching the games from the directory but I was met with limited success as this did not work.
My GPU drivers are up to date.
This error appeared a few days after I switched to Windows 10 Home from Windows 7 Ultimate.

I am guessing that a change from Win 7 ultimate to Win 10 home was a new install. That means that games may require a reinstall.

Yes Kanewolf is correct, new os requires reinstallation of most programs on your computer to be compatible with win 10. YOU WILL EVEN HAVE TO DOWNLOAD WIN10 GPU FILES.

Sure. If the OP confirms that a new install was done, then the Windows registry was wiped out. That is what is causing the problems.
