Bicycles versus an F1 Racecar.
The Phenom and the FX-6300 are decent processors and all, in scenarios where games are more to be GPU bound, the i5-3570k still tends to raise the average FPS by a good 20% or more from the many benchmarks I have seen.

However, in games that are poorly optimized, or very CPU intensive. (GTA IV, Skyrim, Battlefield 3 ect)
The i5-3570k absolutely dominates the competition.
