VSync causing bad performance with R9 390

Whenever I turn on VSync I get mayor framedrops. The framedrops are severe enough to make shooters like BF4 barely playeble. I experience this problem with every game I've tried to date, whenever I turn on VSync I get terrible performance. I'm basicly choosing between framedrops and screen tearing.

This problem wasn't always there. Around the time AMD released the Crimson driver this problem started occuring.

Does anyone know a fix?

I dont know a fix.. or the cause...

but a workaround would be to, disable Vsync and instead limit /cap your frames to your monitor refresh rates using something like
DXtory or Riva tuner.

If not good,

try a uninstaller like this

And do a clean install

My specs are:
AMD FX-8350
AMD Radeon R9 390
16 GB RAM @ 1866 MHz
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5

And I'm already using a framerate limit, it's built in to AMD's graphics driver, but it doesn't prevent the screen tears.

If your Monitor is lets say 60hz and you limit frames to 58 it should not tear at all
