I have a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit disc in my disc tray, and I tried using VirtualBox to set up a virtual machine with it. I got all the way to the last step where it asked me where I wanted to boot from, and chose to host from drive 'D:', but it gave me this error message;

I tried looking in my BiOS for this option, but the closest things I could find were switches for 'VT-d' and 'Intel Virtualization Technology'. I enabled them both, but neither of them fixed the error. I've seen elsewhere that the option can be found in a 'security' tab, but I couldn't find a security tab in my bios menu anywhere.

Solution
Intel VT-d makes direct access to a PCI devices possible for guest systems where as VT-x is the actual hardware virtualisation assistance. your CPU must support VT-x.

Check the CPU list on Intel's web site to see if your CPU supports VT-x. Also it seems your motherboard may not fully support VT-x. Check your motherboard manufacturer's web site for specific information.
