$499 to watch television or movies on the fly. I'll stick to the phone I already have if I absolutely must watch something on the fly. Otherwise, I'll just watch it at home on the large screen, desktop, laptop, tablet that I already have. What is the point of buying one of these other than to throw another $500 away to watch commercials?

The Rift is for strictly indoors noobs. I would test both before I made a decision.

not nessassarily... sure, not may people walk outside will full can headphones, but i would for quality... if a battery could support a rift, i would definitely consider it an option...

Oculus Rift has 110 degree horisontal, 90 degree vertical;
Vuzix AR has 35 degree diagonal;
Feels like comparing workstations with tablets. One for indoors serious thing, the other for when on the move. Power-wise also.
