[SOLVED] vw polo infotainment centre

First let me say I am in the united kingdom so I don't know if cars in the usa are programmed the same.

My wife has a vw polo and due to illness the car has only been driven 2 times since august so i think the battery drained.
A couple of days ago we started the car up and a message came up in the small window between the rev counter and the speedometer , it said infotainment centre turned off.
Apparently when the battery is low the brains of the car turns all sorts of things off.
We have since travelled over 100 miles and got the battery charged , the problem is we cannot get rid of the message.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the message.

The only thing i have found in the book is , press volume button to turn radio on/off.

Did you hold in the volume button long enough for the system to restart/reboot itself?
