VX238H speaker works on VGA HDMI?

Hi so I have a Asus VX238H and their is a built in speaker on this monitor I would like to
hook this monitor to my Evga gtx 950 and would it work? both monitor and the speaker it self?

I do not have a hdmi input on the motherboard. if not would DVI input could work speaker also?

P.S. How good is this built in speaker anyway? I don't want to buy speaker.... just looks so messy and expensive...

as both the monitor & videocard appear to have hdmi then get a hdmi cable to get the speakers working.
