I just purchased the ViewSonic VX922 19" 2ms and I would like to get some feedback w/the different resolutions. I know the native resolution is 1280x1024. I was wondering if bumping it up to 1600x1200 while playing games would be good, or if I'm better off just sticking to the native res. of 1280x1024?

Also, if you have the monitor, please give me feedback =). I did a lot of research and tomshardware said it was just the best for gaming.. so.. =)

The monitor itself is built of cells. Each cell represents 1 pixel. There's no way to play a game at 1600x1200 with a monitor that is built for 1280x1024. To explain this in more technical terms, the monitor's dimensions are 1280 cells wide and 1024 high. Each cell displays one pixel. The space inbetween is always black. You cannot fit more than one pixel in a cell. And if for some reason you manage to run a game at 1600x1200, you won't notice a quality increase as the monitor just interpolates the 1600x1200 image down to 1280x1024.

Bottomline: Keep your games at 1280x1024. This will yield the best quality.
