to anyone that pays their bill online via CHECK?

I was browsing my info on the verizon site and saw on the left you get 100
bonus minutes when you pay your bill with your checking account online, and
if you have other current bonus minutes (would this be 1000 M2M, or N+W
promo?) you will receive a $5 credit on your wireless bill instead.

I'm currently enrolled in the auto bill pay system with my credit card.
Perhaps it might be worthwhile to switch to have them start billing my
checking if I get $5 off a month. This, in addition with my 19% discount,
would help ease the load on the bill for the phone i don't come close to
using my minutes on!

Has anyone taken advantage of this $5/100 minute deal with verizon? Is it $5
a month, or just one time? Any info would be appreciated!

hate to reply to my own post. I called verizon and they said that it is a
one time offer, not monthly reoccuring, and is only valid through August :-/

Ohh well. Atleast when I was on the phone with her she verified my
enrollment for a 19% discount was active so that was good news !

I have wondered how carriers justify those discounts? I could understand if
they were on a group plan and the group was responsible for their own
collections but the carrier bills and services the individual directly. So
what justifies the discount?

The fact that they are given to big organizations that have lots of phones.

The more business you bring to someone, the bigger discount you generally
qualify for...

Yeah, but I get a 15% discount on my *personal* cell phone account, just
because of my employer. And we're not allow allowed to bring cell phones
into the building where I work!

Lower costs. Delinquency on corporate group plans is almost non-existant
compared to normal consumer accounts.

David, a question: did you say a Corporate Store sends out those notices,
or does it happen to be an agent or reseller? Just wondering, not a big
deal if you don't know.
