W on mechanical keyboard acting up

Hello, I have an issue where the w key on my mechanical keyboard only works when I press down gently. If I do so normally or too hard, it's unresponsive. I've tried replugging the USB and taking the key out and cleaning it. I don't know what the issue is and it has been working fine until very recently. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried getting a drop of hot water on the switch and using a straw to push it into the key?
