Hey everyone,

I just got a new laptop a couple of days ago (Dell G5) and it runs great except for the desktop. Whenever I try to do anything on the desktop (including a simple right click), I get the spinning blue wheel for a few minutes. It only does this on the desktop. I cannot see any processes taking up extra CPU or memory. I have also tried both the C: and D: drive for the desktop location, both react the same.

I have only installed trusted programs like Bitdefender, Steam, Firefox etc.

Laptop specs are:

- i7 8750h 4.1ghz
- GTX 1060 Max Q
- 16GB Ram (2x8GB)
- 128GB SSD Boot Drive
- 1TB HDD
- WIndows 10 home

Installed softwares include:

- Bitdefender Total Security 2019
- Nvidia Geforce Experience
- Steam
- Winrar
- Gimp
- Audacity
- Firefox
- Notepad ++
- OpenIV

Thanks everyone!

Solution
RIght-clicking on the desktop activates GPU shortcuts (Intel, AMD etc). That's the only difference with right-clicking over ordinary folder.

Does this happen when you right-click on an open folder sitting on the desktop?
