Hello everyone,

I have a W10 installation on a SATA SSD and I'm trying to have a second W10 installation on a newly installed nvme SSD. I used windows media installation and the installation completed without any problems. After the restart when bootloader prompts me to choose between two windows installations the nvme one gives 0xc00000e or 0xc000098 with message drive is inaccessible or not connected.
My system has:
MSI Tomahawk Z790 ddr4 with latest bios update.
i9 13900k
PSU: Corsair Rm750x

The nvme drive is being recognised by the system but not as a bootable one, also W10 can see the second installation in system configuration. Can I have 2 windows installations one in nvme and one in sata? Can these problems be fixed? I tried to fix bootloader but the bootrec /fixboot returns access is denied error.

Solution
Install Windows when the SATA drive is disconnected, and afterwards select which disk to boot from in the BIOS.

What you've done is use the same SATA boot partition for both drives, and that's why the bootloader message shows up. Don't do that

Thank you, will it work if I completely format the SATA drive before I install the windows to nvme instead of disconnecting the drive?
