Question W10 only sees 3TB of 6TB HDD

We purchased some Toshiba 6TB HDWE160 HDDs to use as deep back up storage. W10 easily sees the first 3TB but that's it. In disk management, or using EASEUS Partition Master, one can easily see the first 3TB as active and normal. The second 3TB are shown as unallocated but I can't do anything to create a simple volume or format the unpartitioned space with either program. I am betting that this may boil down to my MB and system as detailed below.

Yeah a lot of older motherboards have a 3Tb limit,my mobo website has a "driver" or whatever it is to allow disks larger than 3Tb, you should look up if HP has a similar utility.

A 3TB limit is a strange number. Normally such limits occur at 2TiB.
