Question W10 shuts off usb ports

Don't know if this is a done thing here but I've been advising a user who posted about usb problem in system forum. Almost sure it's W10 problem, so I link here. Maybe W10 gurus can do better?

yea go to power options then change options -> adanced settings ->usb then disable USB selective suspend.

Could also be a power setting in the BIOS, I know my laptop has an option to turn them off when the computer is in sleep or stand by.

But unless they were digging around somewhere, I doubt that's a default option in windows, and that's the only other thing I can think of that would be.
Let me know I'm curious now.
