W10 won't start up

W10 working fine.
This morning part way through creating an email it stopped ... only cursor/mouse movement no buttons or apps would work.
After an Hr did forced shutdown.
Now pc starts ... POST run ..
But stay a lot longer on screen than normal .. 3 to 4 tmes) then screen clears follwed by single blue windows icon ... and spinning wheel of dots under it.

Boot up does not complete.
I left it for an Hr ..did then get line on screen repairing E:\ 1% complete.
There are no system files on E:\

I don't have a CD to boot off.

You can download the windows media creation tool and create a bootable Win 10 USB or DVD

You then need to do a repair install to hopefully fix whatever got corrupted in windows.

Also possible that it happened due to the hard drive disk itself being corrupted.

Ok my PC won't boot so can't download anything will try on another PC... do you know the link where I can get W64 ultimate from?
In case it makes a differemce this was W7 upgrade.

Windows 10 does not have an ultimate version, so it gave you Pro.

The download you get in the WIndows Media Creation tool has the files for both Pro and Home, it then adds the files/features depending on the key you entered.

Thanks for link ... file downloaded quickly.

The creation of iso file is taking a very long time, 30 min in and still only 46%
Assume it must be reaching out for the files it needs but incredibly slow.
I have 50Mb coonection so no issue there.

Do I just boot up on thus disc ...seen the comment "you cannot do a Repair install from safe mode or at boot in W10"

Have created USB flash drive version ... set USB drive in boot menu. It boots to single Window icon with spinning dotted wheel beneath ... then changes to a large purple window ... but no text or cursor ...
Goes no further.
