Question W11 Pro vs Home

I think you can go with the basic version. There is actually no need to go with the Pro. You will get the same features with the basic version as compared to Pro version. For gaming reason you can go with basic.

Agreed. I'm using Pro on a new build from a year ago, but only because at the time I was able to get a Pro license on sale for about 60% off. Home was also on sale and a bit cheaper still, but because Pro was under 100 bucks, I went for it. Nothing about it is required for what I do - 3d architectural design, building information modeling and construction documents (AutoCAD and Revit) - but it's nice to have that group policy editor. But I've used Home for years with the same programs with no issues.

Pro really doesn't give you any advantage, performance wise, over Home.

Except maybe in max ram support. Home supports up to 128GB of ram. Pro, up to 2TB. But that's pretty much for corporate server use or high-end 3d visualization render farms with multi-processors.

im on pro aswell as it was just for 59.99eur from microsoft store, looking at windows licence store now, its at 306USD now (im in europe so pretty high VAT there), home is at 170

the only thing i use from pro is group policies...you dont know how many stuffs you can turn off to get some speedups :)
