Agreed. I'm using Pro on a new build from a year ago, but only because at the time I was able to get a Pro license on sale for about 60% off. Home was also on sale and a bit cheaper still, but because Pro was under 100 bucks, I went for it. Nothing about it is required for what I do - 3d architectural design, building information modeling and construction documents (AutoCAD and Revit) - but it's nice to have that group policy editor. But I've used Home for years with the same programs with no issues.
Pro really doesn't give you any advantage, performance wise, over Home.
Except maybe in max ram support. Home supports up to 128GB of ram. Pro, up to 2TB. But that's pretty much for corporate server use or high-end 3d visualization render farms with multi-processors.
