I have a multi OS machine using a removeable storage rack to switch OSs. The mobo is a MSI KT3 Ultra ARU. The machine has an Athlon XP 2000 running 1731MHz (no special cooling) and an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro card using the newest Omega drivers on both OSs. It has 1024MBs of DDR333. I had to reinstall both OSs due to a virus, stupidity and bad luck. I used both old OSs to run either Combat Flight Sim 2 or 3 and Flight Sim 2004. I have not been able to get these games to work on either new system successfully. In Win98SE, Combat Flight Sim 2 will get scrambled graphics during some part of a mission and I have to reboot one or more times to get it running again. In W2K Pro, Combat Flight Sim 2 will lockup if to many objects are in the mission and FS2004 will reboot if I try to make a control settings change. I have the sound card (SB16) installed in slot 4, the NIC in slot 3 and the TV card in slot 5 of the mobo. I have the IRs set to: 1/5=Auto, 2=10, 3=Auto and 4=9. I have done what little I know to elimate any conflict between the sound card and the graphics card. However, a conflict may be causing the graphics problem. Every thing works all right except during game playing. Does any one have some input to help with this problem

Info: MSI KT3 Ultra ARU mobo, Athlon XP 2000+ CPU, Windows98SE, 512MB of DDR266, Gainward GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB Ultra 650 graphics card and a Thermaltake XaserII tower, a 431 watt Enermac Whisper pwr.

Considering your Sig. says a GF4, did you make sure to clean up your Det. drivers when installing the R9700?

Is the R9700 running at stock?

Sounds like an OC overheating issue, but dunno.

Yes I cleaned up the old drivers. The card is running at default speed. I'm going use my non-conductive dental mirror to look at the fan while the system is running. I bought and am installing a Creative Sound Audigy 2 Zs card. I installed it in slot 3 and the NIC in slot 4. The TV card is in slot 5 and slots 1 & 2 are empty. The sound card slot is set to IR=10 and the others are on Auto. I hope to check out the results of the changes tomorrow. I have changed my signature to reflect the present system unit.

I solved one of the 2 problems causing the reboot. I installed an Audigy2 ZS sound card in slot 4 set for IRQ=10. This helped with the Win98SE but I suspect that there is some residue in the registry from a McAfee VirusScan 8 uninstall which is giving me a little problem. In the W2K Pro OS, some VirusScan 8 uninstall residue in the registry caused FS2004 to reboot on me. After learning how to use the Event Log Viewer (System Event log), I discovered the McAfee problem. However, in W2K Pro, it appears, from what I read in the Application Event log, that ZoneAlarm's True Vector is causing the system to crash when it tries to write to a ZoneAlarm event log during game playing. I have turned off the the ZoneAlarm event log feature but have not tested the system yet.

Solved those problems and now it is rebooting during game playing due to another problem. There is no ERROR message in the system event log but there is this notice that is generated during reboot process:

INFORMATION 1/6/04, 9:46:16PM, save dump:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0xffdfc105, 0x0000001e, 0x00000000, 0x80064fac). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini010604-06.dmp.

How do I read (if possible) the file Mini010604-06.dmp since it is not is a text format. Also, what can I do with the information that I got from the system event log if I can not use the information in the dump file.
