Wait for mobile volta/turing or just go for pascal?

Hello, I'm in the market for a gaming laptop, especially now that the 8th gen 6 core intel mobile chips have come out. I need a laptop that's relatively thin and light and with a large battery so I can use it for school. I've narrowed it down to the new MSI GS65 or the Gigabyte Aero 15x, both of which are less than 3/4 inch and have 82 and 94 WH batteries respectively, either of which are fine for my needs. My question is, should I go ahead and buy now or should I wait for mobile Volta/Turing later this year?

That HP laptop is a really good deal but it's also about 8lbs, which wouldn't be ideal for lugging it around school

U might also consider something like the razer blade stealth and getting an external gpu dock.

For me, the omen ticks all the boxes :

It is bulky but looks sleek

Dedicated macro keys and gaming keycaps

G sync display with a gtx 1080 (for laptop, I think the 1080p and 1080 is the right mix, with an overclockable cpu to push that fps, will last atleast 3 years)

And yes, the downside I see are the weight and battery life.
