Hi I recently sold my 1050 ti for SGD230 in hopes of buying a gtx 1060 6gb at SGD400. However, I heard the rumour of new gen nvidia graphic cards coming out soon and it's performance being much more better than the current gen gpus. I currently have a ryzen 3 2200g apu so I do not need a gpu urgently. Should I wait for the new gen gpus or just buy a 1060 6gb? How much and when will the 11xx and 20xx gpus come out?
It is already June and so I do not think it is a good time to get a 1060.

G'day there,

The GTX 1180 is the brand new GPU expected to release in the next few months. It uses GDDR6 compared to the current gen GPUs using GDDR5, which means the memory is around 20% better. The GTX 1180 is estimated to be 50% more powerful than a GTX 1080 and 20% more powerful than a GTX 1080 Ti. So this new GPU will be very, VERY powerful.

It is expected to cost around $700USD at launch.

Honestly, in my opinion, I'd wait for the new GPUs to come out. I'm considering selling my GTX 1060 for an 1180.

Hope this helped!

I won't roast you, there's no reason too! We're all here to help each other out.

As far as we know, there is no GTX 1160. But they may be released in the future as a budget card on the new GPU architecture that the GTX 1180 uses.
