Hey everyone! I just built a computer. I have done this many times before so its not new to me or anything. However, regarding Nvidia Pascal, is it worth it to wait at this point? When is it suppose to come out (speculation)?

Another question I have is whether or not the i5 6600k will be good for gaming for the next 3-5 years?

Also, I don't expect anyone to really know much about this motherboard but what do you think of this motherboard? Good or meh? Need SLI and that's all.

Also, i was thinking of just ordering a 750ti place holder until it comes out.

I'll address your concerns in order:

It may or may not be wise to wait. There are many good cards out there for the price that are far from going obsolete any time soon such as the 970, etc.

To address your second question: I personally am using a LYNNFIELD i5 (750 to be exact), and it is working flawlessly for me. So, yes it will work for you in the next 3-5 years.

I believe your link isn't valid so if you could shoot me a new MOBO link that would be great :) have a good night.

I've heard recently that pascals would range from 600$ to 1100$, well,it will be seen only when it gets out in market. There are cards that can do the job for any resolution, if you are at 1080p, consider r9 390,will keep you busy for 2-3 years well. DX 12 is also in corners.

For CPU, i5 skylake stay with you for 3-5 years. You can overclock it whenever required, but only if you have paired with with a Z170 based board.Which allows overclocking.

Unfortunately,i can't see the board you listed, may fix the link.

Oh sorry guys. Here is the link for the motherboard.

It looked like something that would be good but I have never used anything MSI. Not sure if that's good or bad.

For the graphics, I should mention that I am looking to do VR ASAP. I don't know if that matters but I was kind of thinking that if this is the year VR takes stage then I was thinking that pascal would probably be a little more optimized for that.

if I go GTX 750ti for 100 dollars and sell it for pascal on release I'm not going to really have a problem. I am coming from gaming on a PS4 after all. Should look about the same until pascal comes out.

Do you think Pascal will be better for VR though? Money isn't an issue. Just don't want to blow 600 dollars on the 900 series if pascal comes out next month or something.
