Wait for price of monitors to drop or just buy it?

Just wondering what you guy think about buying a monitor now or waiting for the price to drop. If you look at some of the 1080p 144hz monitors that got released 2 years ago the price has only dropped about 5-10%. Could anybody explain why it takes so long? Should I keep waiting or just buy one already?

There aren't many 1080p 144Hz screens released anymore.1080p is silently replaced by 1440p - I mean my phone got a 1440p display.

So focus of the manufacturers is 27'' or bigger, 2k/4k/8k
However since GPUs to support these resolutions are pretty expensive there are still many people buying 1080p causing prices to remain stable

So I'd say just buy one if you want one.
I don't see major price drops coming anytime soon .

Should I perhaps wait untill 1440p 144hz drops in price? right now they're at $7-800 Australian and do you think they ill drop anytime soon?

gotta remember that for 1440p / 144Hz you'd need a 1080 for high settings
it's like the cream of the crop for gamer monitors

when 1440p/144Hz drops, 1080p/144Hz will as well
we're just not there yet.
