Wait for RTX or buy cheaper Pascal?

Hello Everyone!

Now that Nvidia has announced their RTX series and begun taking preorders, is it worth for me to wait and jump on the Ray Tracing Hype Train or buy a Pascal GPU for less?

The only game so far that I would be playing with RTX would be Battlefield V.

1080 and 1080Ti will still beat all you can throw at them in 1080P and bit above.
said announcement will cut said older cards prices by a LOT, 1080Ti's by 50% or so (assuming 2080 will be that 699 and it will be "lot better" than 1080Ti even if not used with fancy raytracing)
1080 will see even more price cuts, most likely. (2070 was announced at 499 and should still beat 1080 in performance)
so... yeah, two to three months from now, unless supply runs out, I don't see 1080Ti's price as over 500 to 600

So yes, worth waiting.. either 2080's will be what promised, 699 and 1080Ti's way below that or... supply runs out and.. 1080's will still be less than now.

Frankly depends on your budget. Though remember we have no idea how much better the RTX lineup really is or how useful/noticeable Ray Tracing will be.
