Wait for the next gen?

Should I wait for the 5th gen Intel processors or get the 4th gen? I am thinking of getting an i5-4690k. In other words, are they a big enough improvement to wait and spend more?

Broadwell will be really small improvement 5-10% (gaming probably 0), still using ddr3 memory. If you can upgrade now, no need to wait. 4690k is a great chip.

I'm personally waiting for skylake/ddr4 for mainstream users but that's not gonna be this year.

That depends on what you have now. I have a 2500K and spending the money on a new motherboard and processor makes no since.
As far as waiting so far their been about a 7% performance increase with the new releases excluding the latest refresh that shows 0.

I am upgrading from an amd 4170. This will increase gaming performance right? I'm pretty sure but I am not sure by how much.
