I was trying to figure out why my computer kept turning on by itself last night. I found out that wake on LAN was enabled. I went into BIOS and disabled it. It's happening again. Apparently it keeps enabling it by itself. Any ideas what this might be? Virus? MoBo malfunction? Recent Windows 7 update?

I have an Intel DP67BG

Thanks

Disabling it in the bios is only useful if you're using it in a non-windows environment. Go into control panel, device manager, double click on your network adapter, click on the Power management tab, uncheck both "allow the computer to wake this device" and "allow the computer to turn this device off to save power".

On the network adapter properties advanced tab if there are any options similar to "wake on magic packet" or "wake on pattern match", disable those settings as well.

Thanks for the help! I couldn't find any options on the Advanced tab, but I unchecked "allow the computer to turn this device off to save power".
