I have relevant bios settings turned on as well as gone into device manager to ensure wake-on-magic packet is enabled.

I have also made sure that my laptop is receiving magic packets while on via Wireshark.

Are there any other settings that I could be missing or perhaps my laptop is incapable of using the wake-on-lan function?

Solution
chechk in device manager under network card properties if this is enabled

disable pcie link state in power plan settings

also enable this:

and change WOL and shutdown to 10mbit

this one is for dell, but it should be similar for asus

EEE needs to be disabled

on laptop you also need to configure LID in power options so it can wake up with lid closed
Hmm... Sadly, I checked all of those settings, including green ethernet, and advanced EEE, and they were all disabled -- either by me or default disabled. Attached is the settings in their current state. Any other ideas?

was reading a bit microsoft guidelines
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/troubleshoot/windows-client/deployment/wake-on-lan-feature

WOL is supported only from sleep (S3), or when the user explicitly requests to enter hibernate (S4) state in Windows 10. Although the target system power state is the same between hybrid shutdown and hibernates (S4), Windows will only explicitly disable WOL when it's a hybrid shutdown transition, and not during a hibernate transition.

Note
the firmware and hardware on some systems may support arming Network Interface Cards (NIC) for wake from S4 or S5, even though Windows isn't involved in the process.

That's disappointing. I had all these settings correctly selected also. I'll just have to keep tinkering.

Is it at all possible a hardware issue and not software?

Edit: So.. I'm an idiot. In my bios settings it's "Wake on WLAN" Not "Wake on LAN."
I got it working somewhat, but made a new post regarding the new issues I'm having regarding the sleep state of the laptop.
Cheers though!
