Question Wake up Mac and PC at the same time.

How could I wake up my Mac, which I use for work, from sleep mode, by turning on my PC? I want to be able to press only one button without having to open a lid. I am using Synergy to share my mouse and keyboard, but this does not wake up my Mac. I have tried using Wake on Lan. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
(If this seems familiar to you, it is because I have posted this same question before, but never recieved an answer).

Another way might be something like Teamviewer which can remotely wake computers, including Macs.

Just realized that thread I linked to is from 2005, oops! Still might be worth a read to see if anything useful is there. I'll look again for more modern info .

Is the Mac wired or wireless?

It's a Mac Book Pro connected to an external display. I use Synergy to share my mouse and keyboard from my PC. I have tried both wired and wireless connections, but neither works.
